In this worksheet, children learn about the role art plays in the celebration and messaging of Earth Day, which began in 1970 to heighten awarness of environmental crises around the world. Students are introduced to Earthday.org's Artist for the Earth global campaign that connects with art organizations and artists to help bring environmental awareness to the public. Children then study three works of environemental art and share their thoughts about each before answering questions about these works. They then create an artwork of their own.
