Many words in the English language are based on Latin words that show up as roots in many words we use today, such as the root word "vid" that appears in "evidence" and "video." In this seventh- and eighth-grade language and vocabulary worksheet, students will be given a list of common Latin root words—and words that contain those roots—and will need to match them to the correct meaning. This activity is a great way to help learners expand their vocabulary by learning how to figure out the meaning of unfamiliar words that use the same roots.
