Introduce students to the ancient Maya number system with this engaging and interactive social studies worksheet! The ancient Maya had an advanced number system that made possible many impressive accomplishments during the height of their civilization. In this fascinating world history worksheet, students will first read a brief background of the Maya civilization and their number system. Then they will decode the patterns in a partially completed number table in order to fill in the missing numbers. After identifying the symbols for numbers 1–19 in the Maya number system, students will take their learning one step further by writing addition and subtraction number sentences using Maya numbers.
